ABOUT

John Gitlin has been practicing law since 1979. From 1979 to 1981, Mr. Gitlin was a trial attorney with the Department of Justice. Thereafter, from 1981 to 1994, Mr. Gitlin was a partner in the firm of Fischer, Gitlin & Sanger. In 1994 until 1999, Mr. Gitlin was a vice president and General Counsel for a publicly traded multinational global telecommunications company in New York. where he was responsible for all legal matters relating to the corporation which responsibilities encompassed FCC regulations, SEC required filings and compliance and advising both management and the board of directors on all corporate and legal matters.

Since returning to Dallas in 1999, Mr. Gitlin has specialized in representing clients in both commercial and construction litigation and arbitration, Chapter 11 Reorganization Bankruptcy and commercial and real estate transactions.

SERVICES

Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization

Since 1983 the firm has been engaged in the representation of debtors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings before the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in Texas, Nevada, Connecticut, New Jersey and New Mexico, representing both public and privately held corporate debtors from a wide range of industries, including the hotel industry.

Business and Construction Litigation

The firm has, since 1983, represented clients in both federal and state courts in both business and construction litigation and has represented clients, primarily general contractors  in commercial construction arbitration.

Hospitality

For over ten years, the firm has represented clients in the hospitality industry, primarily in the acquisition and sale of hotels.
